Getting your Driving Started

The minimum age you can take driving lessons in a car in the UK is 17, or 16 if you are currently getting Disability Living Allowance at the higher rate

Before you start taking your driving lessons you need to apply for a provisional licence, which you can do 2 months before your 17th birthday, however you can't drive until your 17th birthday. To apply for your provisional licence, and to get further details, just visit the DVLA website or obtain form D1 from the Post Office

You can make your theory test much easier . . . The Highway Code is essential reading when you're learning to drive. It contains all of the rules of the road and regulations for driving in the UK. As a driver, it's your duty to know these rules - and remember if you don't abide by them, you could be breaking the law and face being prosecuted. As a new driver, points on your licence are not to be recommended! Under the 'New drivers Act', this could lead to you losing your licence, so it's worth getting to know the rules and staying safe . . .

Intensive courses to get you driving . . .

Intensive driving courses mean that you to learn to drive and pass your test in the shortest time possible. Our courses are designed to meet individual needs with early test dates available when required. Learning this way usually takes less time than the traditional method of 1 lesson a week. Intensive courses really can help you to get on the road to a full licence in the shortest possible time, but some people find the work a bit too much if the lessons are 'too' intensive. You always have the option of a semi intensive course . . . you take more lessons in a shorter time, and you have rest periods between driving sessions so that you take in the information much easier.
